This happened a couple of weeks ago, but I must say it was the scariest moment this far with Daniel. I went to a 1 year old party to Moa and Mira’s (the twins), it was a great party for grown ups as well, we had some nice salmon and salad (served with wine), and a beautiful cake. It really was a great party, the hosts were very nice and the kids (mostly 1year old’s) were in their best behavior.
But all of a sudden one of the kids wanted to take a nap, so DADDY, who was in charge, decide to bring in the stroller and put it in the balcony so that he could sleep. Although on his way in, he forgot to close the door of the apartment. I remembered seeing Daniel behind me when they went by, and then it was time to open the presents. It was Daniel’s present to be opened first, so I started to look for Daniel, all the kids were sitting with their parents, but Daniel. So I got up to look for him, I went to the hall, and OOOOOhhh surprise!!!!!!! the door to the apartment was wide open!!! I didn’t see Daniel or heard anyone crying so the first thing I thought was " Oh my god! he fell from the stairs, He’s not crying, HE’S DEAD", it’s funny how fast we draw to conclusions and how your mind can work soooo fast. So I ran to the stairs, no body was there!!! could he have walked this fast?????? no, IMPOSSIBLE. So I went in to get some help, then I thought, since I come from Mexico… someone took him!!!!!, I started screaming his name, and then I heard him cry… GOOD NEWS!! He’s alive!! . But where is he???? Everyone was opening and closing doors in the apartment, and then I saw it. The door to the elevator, it was closed…. I pushed the button and there he was! crying, poor thing….. I was soooo angry for a moment to the person that left the door open, but then I thought it was important for Daniel to feel that everything was ok, so I just dismissed the bad feelings and the thoughts of wanting to kill someone, after all, it’s my son, and I should always know where he is and what he is doing. I just have to thank god and his guardian angel that were there to point him to the elevator and not to the stairs.
